Fortieth Birthday Post #1: The End is the Beginning, the Beginning is the End
To the casual reader, this is the first post in the 40th Birthday Series.
But this is the final one.
You can read them start to finish, or go to the end and read backwards to here.
Final thoughts on 40.
I have always thought of 40 as the age my mother was in 1980. That was the year I was bar mitzvah'ed. It was the year John Lennon was murdered.
So I am now the age that my mother was when I entered my teens. That, to me, is the significance of this landmark. It is as if I have finally crossed over the great divide. That's the only way I can express it.
Farewell, Thirties. Hello, the Rest of My Life.

Its all fabulous, but you are missing a "40" song - 40,000 Pounds of Bananas...
I love the sleeping pillow monster!
Sorry, Sis, but even adjusted for inflation, Harry Chapin's "30,000 Pounds of Bananas" is still not "40,000".
Cheers
SPM
How about Canadian Bananas?
