Seven Days and Counting....

The New York Times has a tally of the most e-mailed stories, and this one is currently in the lead.

On St. Patrick's Day, one week from this post, New York City will be getting its first Trader Joe's. As an ex-Angeleno and ex-Pasadenan, this is huge. I will be able to walk to the Trader Joe's that is opening less than 20 blocks away, although I will most likely take the subway express 1 stop from work.

Californians and suburbanites know how wonderful this place is. In the last nine years since moving to New York, I have been starved for Trader Joe's. Only on trips to L.A. or, if we rent a car, or if Melanie went away on business to Connecticut, New Jersey, Long Island, or Massachusetts, did one of us come home with a stash of their stuff.

I ramble. I rave. I cannot express enough how cool this is.
